ACF’s Statewide Network of Giving
Problem
Through the generosity of the Rasmuson Foundation, ACF began working with volunteer leaders in seven Alaska communities to grow local philanthropy and demonstrate the power of planned giving. Local foundations in these small communities were to be relatively independent branches of ACF but also wanted to tap the statewide brand. The challenge was to create a local identity while keeping the statewide identity together. As a new entity, each affiliate needed complete identity packages.
Solution
We created logos and a consistent look for each affiliate based upon the overall ACF branding. This enabled the awareness of the statewide giving concept to grow regardless of the community. Stationery, newsletter templates, brochure and handbooks were just some of the pieces created. Additionally, ACF’s new Web site includes home pages and sections for each affiliate to, again, maintain their local integrity and image within the protection of the statewide organization.
Results
Seven communities in Alaska now have endowment funds enabling them to grant money for their community’s biggest needs. Each community’s donors, leaders and nonprofit community are aware of the local foundation and its ties to the statewide organization.
